T-SHIRTS
Custom printed t-shirts on organic and ethically made tees.
Your logo or artwork screen printed, embroidered or digitally printed on certified tees, from an event run to an ongoing program.
Custom t-shirts printed and delivered across New Zealand
OCC Apparel makes custom t-shirts for New Zealand organisations: universities, schools, not-for-profits, corporates, events, sports clubs and brands. We supply the blank tee, print or embroider your logo or artwork locally, and deliver New Zealand-wide. Send your artwork and quantities, get a free mockup, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
Our t-shirt printing covers one-off event runs and ongoing staff and merch programs, on tees from Earth Positive, Stanley/Stella, AS Colour and Comfort Colors.
Tell us what the tees are for, how many you need and when. We’ll suggest the garment and print method that fits your budget and timeline, and one contact manages your order from quote to delivery.
Choosing the right tee
The blank matters as much as the print. A tee that fits well and holds its shape gets worn, and that’s the point of putting your logo on it.
- Weight: lighter tees for events, warm weather and giveaways; heavyweight tees for retail merch and a structured look. The Comfort Colors 1717 Heavyweight, for example, is 207gsm combed ring-spun cotton.
- Fit: classic, women’s fit, oversized, long sleeve, singlets and tanks, and kids’ tees.
- Fibre: certified organic cotton from Earth Positive and Stanley/Stella, recycled blends, or conventional cotton.
- Finish: garment-dyed and washed colours give a vintage retail look.
- Colour: Stanley/Stella and AS Colour both carry wide colour ranges. Ask us for colour cards to match your brand.
Screen printing, digital printing or embroidery?
Screen printing suits runs where the artwork has a few spot colours. Each colour has its own screen, so the cost per print falls as quantity rises. Water-based inks give a soft feel; plastisol gives vivid colour. Coloured tees need an underbase print. A front chest print and a large back print are two positions, and each adds to the set-up.
Digital printing (DTG and DTF) suits small runs and full-colour artwork with gradients or photos, with no screen per colour.
Embroidery suits a small chest logo on a premium tee. For large designs, print is usually the better choice. Not sure which to use? We’ll recommend a method with your quote.
Artwork and approval
Send vector artwork (AI, EPS or PDF) with text outlined and Pantone C colours. JPG and PNG files can be redrawn. One artwork file is enough to request a quote, and we’ll tell you what we need for the rest.
Every decorated order gets a free digital mockup showing placement, size and colours. Change anything you like at this stage. Production is booked once you approve the mockup and pay, and approved business accounts can order on terms.
Reorders, programs and certified tees
Many tee orders come back every term, season or event. We can hold your decorated stock in warehousing, manage reorders from your approved mockups, and set up a private ordering portal through OCC OMM™ so staff, branches or members order for themselves.
When a stock tee isn’t right, we can make your own style through offshore manufacturing, which takes around 3–6 months including sampling and transit.
For organic tees, we show the certification each garment carries, such as GOTS for Earth Positive organic cotton. We only make sustainability claims a brand’s certification supports.

FAQ
Questions
How much do custom t-shirts cost?
The price depends on the tee, the quantity, the number of print colours and the print positions. Mixed colours, styles and sizes are priced on the total quantity. Every quote includes a free mockup.
Is there a minimum order for custom t-shirts?
Screen printing has a minimum of 24 pieces per print design. Screen printing becomes better value as quantity rises, and digital printing suits very small runs.
How long does t-shirt printing take?
Typically 2–3 weeks from artwork approval and payment, or 3–4 weeks in peak periods or for complex jobs. Rush orders are often possible, so tell us your date when you ask for a quote.
Screen printing or digital printing: which is better for t-shirts?
Screen printing suits larger runs and artwork with a few spot colours, with a soft, durable finish. Digital printing suits small runs and full-colour artwork such as photos and gradients.
What artwork file do I need for t-shirt printing?
Vector files (AI, EPS or PDF) with outlined text and Pantone C colours work best. We can redraw JPG and PNG files.
Do you deliver custom t-shirts New Zealand-wide?
