GUIDE – NEW ZEALAND

Print placement and sizing guide.

Typical print positions and sizes for tees and hoodies, as a starting point for your design.

Quick answer

Common placements are left chest, full front, full back, nape and sleeve. As a guide, a left chest logo is usually about 8–10 cm wide and a full back print up to about 30–35 cm wide, adjusted so it fits the smallest size in your order.

Typical print sizes

  • Left chest: about 8–10 cm wide
  • Full front: about 25–30 cm wide
  • Full back: about 28–35 cm wide
  • Nape (below the collar): about 5–8 cm wide
  • Sleeve: about 6–9 cm wide

These are starting points, not rules. The right size depends on your design, the garment and the size range you are ordering.

Things to keep in mind

  • One print size usually runs across all garment sizes, so we check it fits the smallest size in your order
  • Each print position counts as a separate design for screen printing minimums
  • Hoodie pockets, zips and seams limit where a print can sit
  • Caps, bags and accessories have their own print areas

Questions

Does a front and back print count as one design?

No. Each print position is a separate design. For screen printing, the minimum is 24 pieces per design.

Will my print be the same size on every garment size?

Usually, yes. We check the size works on the smallest garment in your order and confirm it on the mockup.

How big should a left chest logo be?

As a guide, about 8–10 cm wide, depending on the shape of your logo.
